Chubby (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a pet calorie and weight tracking app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name (if you share it), your email address (or Apple’s private relay address), and a unique account identifier. We use this to create and secure your account.
Pet profile data. Information you enter about your pet — name, species, breed, birthday, weight, target weight, activity level, health conditions, and diet preferences. We use this to calculate calorie targets and personalize the app.
Food logs and photos. Meals, treats, and portions you log, and photos you take or select for calorie estimation. Photos submitted for scanning are sent to our backend and processed by an AI service (Google Gemini) to estimate calories. Photos are used only to produce the estimate and are not used to identify people.
Purchase information. If you subscribe, purchases are processed by Apple. We and our subscription infrastructure provider (Superwall) receive subscription status and transaction identifiers — never your payment card details.
Device and usage data. Basic technical data needed to operate the app, such as device type and app version.
We use Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Google Gemini via our server (photo calorie estimation), Superwall (subscription management), and Apple (sign-in and payments). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below, and we will honor the request within 30 days.
Chubby is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Chubby provides calorie estimates and general weight guidance for pets. It is not veterinary advice. Always consult a veterinarian about your pet’s health, diet, and weight program.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
